Camp 4 is the climbers' walk-in campground. Park you auto in the big lot and hike in a few feet to your tent pad. Always a nylon slum, the NPS tried to shut it down a few years ago; however, the old and young climbers organised and had it declared a National Historic Site. Now it can never be closed; but it is still a slum. Maybe that's why I like it so much!
If you study any of the history of rock climbing, you have to love this place. It is a slum, and as Stew says, now a historic one. This place can tell some tales.
