This is a great hike that starts near the summit of Eastern Oregon's grandest mountain - the mighty Steens! The trail is a tough, steep hike but the views and lake make it well worth the effort.
Yes, carry your fly rod with you and catch a few cutthroat trout from this neat little alpine lake. We enjoyed walking further down the gorge just to get a feel of the vastness of this area. Spectacular.
