Getting There

To access the Hot Springs Campground, from the Refuge Headquarters (on Hart Mtn Road), head south on Blue Sky Road. After about one mile, turn right onto Hot Springs Campground Road. After another mile, turn right onto a spur road to the hot springs.

These are some of the best hot springs you will ever find - and in one of the remotest settings in the west. A unique place to visit.

The stone-structure "official" pool is cool-looking, but I like the so-called "source-pool" (as shown in one of those photos) for the higher temperatures and unobstructed view. I passed into New Year while soaking in the stone pool many years ago. Wonderful area overall.

The "source pool" seems to get bigger with ever passing year. My first experience with this pool (probably mid-90's), it was just big enough for maybe 2 people. This past fall I walked over for an after dark soak and there was generous amounts of room for easily 8 or more. Perfect temps.
