Wander the West: Hoffer Lake Trail

To access the Hoffer Lake Trail from Baker City, Oregon, take U.S. Highway 30 to Haines, turn west on County Road 1146, follow the Elkhorn Drive Scenic Byway signs to Anthony Lake. Turn into the Anthony Lakes Campground area (32 miles) and follow the road around the west shore of the lake to the parking lot at the end. Hike 0.2 mile along the Anthony Lake Shoreline Trail to the Hoffer Lake Trailhead. Follow the trail for 0.5 mile to Hoffer Lakes. Continue to the junction with Forest Road #185. Descend on this road to Anthony Lake.
