Getting There

11 mi south of Furnace Creek off Badwater Road. Artist's Drive is a paved road but is winding and narrow. Road is one-way traffic and vehicles over 25 feet are not allowed.

Artist's Palette is great in the dead of winter after a storm. It sits high with an occasional view down into Death Valley that is dramatic when you can watch the clouds rise and lower on the surrounding mountains.

A great paved road drive in Death Valley. Sunset is the best time to do this drive. The sunset light makes the pastel colored cliffs really pop. We ended our first day in Death Valley with this drive and it was a beautiful ending.
