Easy to get to and an amazing place. It's truly awe inspiring to be standing on the ground and looking at a sign 282 feet above your head on the cliffs that reads SEA LEVEL!

The actual lowest point in the US is a 3.5 mile hike to the center the salt encrusted playa to the west. When I was there a few winters ago, nobody else was.

Don't try the hike in the summer!

The bottom of Death Valley and the lowest spot in the US. No visit to Death Valley is complete without a stop here.
