The Tonto Trail begins along the south bank of the Colorado River at Garnet Canyon (western end) and ends at Red Canyon (eastern end), also at the Colorado River.

Running along the Tonto Plateau, the Tonto Trail is a change from the steep elevation gains/losses of the trails that lead into the canyon. It also has the advantage of being less used. This is a trail you can find yourself completely alone on, our kind of trail!
