Spot Comments:

  • The Emerald Pools trail takes you 500 feet uphill into a cool, forested side canyon with overhangs, waterfalls, and small pools.  Make loop hike starting from the Zion Lodge, cross the river on the bridge and head north to the pools.

  • Everything in Zion is beautiful. The Emerald Pools was absolutely one of my most favorite spots to sit and take it in. The hike is pretty easy, just a few little spots to get over some rocks. I did it in my maryjane crocs! Hahahaha.
I saw older folks doing it and kids. I did it towards the end of summer in September when the weather wasn't too bad and the park wasn't suuuuper crowded. I love coming down a mountainside trail and seeing water.
