Fall 2016 WY/CA/AZ/NM Trip, view of Sonora Pass from the Pacific Crest Trail south of the pass. Sonora Peak is on the right side (non-technical climb from the PCT which we hiked the next day) and Stanislaus Peak is the center back pointy peak (low level technical climb). The valley on the left side is the Middle Fork of the Stanislaus River which the road follows. Day hiking both north and south on the PCT from Sonora Pass are very scenic, especially south bound.
