You guys are stoked!! Congrats on a great rig.

Fyi I've been off and on with stair use too. Got a sturdy ramp for my aging big pooch to get in and out of the truck cab, and realized I could use it for the camper entry too. If you're sure footed ( first thing before coffee being the danger time ) I've found this is a pretty good option. I don't think my camper door is as high as yours but it's a newer F350 so it's high enough!

Hope to see you guys out there  :)

The ramp is worth playing with..definitely not as good for carrying things in and out - think falling - so when I use the ramp I'll place stuff on the floor, then walk up. And yup I just chuck it in the truck, easy peasy!

Dahlberg, thanks much for the follow up info and add'l pics.

Looking at them, I now think your use for that space under the curbside bench is better than my idea for a porta potti. It seems to be a great place for long items, like your chairs. Even better if one could stand outside and reach in to grab or stash something from there.

I thought the dinette might be larger, it looked so. A few years back we were planning a 8.5' with the 44" dinette. Seemed a good all rounder size width 2 + dog, for all the reasons you listed. Comfy too, my wife still remarks on it.

Interesting to read about your previous rig, what you liked and didn't. Good for you guys for pulling the pin and moving on, and forward.

Dynamite set up, thanks for sharing it.

Thank you, it was a tough decision but we are very glad to be into a truck camper. Yes, you can access that area under the dinette from outside. It's great for chairs and dog food, everything that you use daily but maybe don't want to pop it up to access easily. Let us know if you have any other questions, we're happy to help out!

Well done, Dahlberg. Sioux and I followed much the same reasoning and wound up in our 3500 Ram chassis cab and FWC Grandby combo. I chatted briefly with Bryan with Alaskan before pulling the trigger on the Grandby. (My third FWC in six years!) At the time they weren't doing side entry flatbeds and that was a no-go for me so I didn't continue with them. Today I would be seriously tempted... :)

Just a question. Have you weighed your set-up wet? Both front and rear axles? I'm very close to my 11,000 GVWR and curious how others are doing.

Hey thank you! No, we haven't weighed it all yet... We'll try to do it this weekend and let you know. The chassis is another great idea to get the flatbed lower, if we do another build we would definitely think about that.

That looks awesome.

Your choices in colors and materials are amazing, such a great open plan.

My wife and I have been in discussions w Bryan and his team on a similar side door build ever since we saw some pictures of the 2 they did before the big expo in arizona last spring.  Would you guys mind having a private conversation to discuss your experience and help us reach our final decision before putting down money on the deposit. If so would you mind sending me your number through my email at ajbecker@hotmail.com.  My name is Adam.

Congrats again it looks like you guys are going to have so much fun with that.
