This issue just started about a month ago. I disconnected the camper from the truck (the electric) and turned off the battery 'switch' but the lights wont turnoff. I have read some other threads on the forum and a green wire is mentioned repeatedly, but I don't have one! Any help would be appreciated.

thanks,

When FWC installed our camper, they connected the running light wire to the driver's side tail light circuit.  So, it is not powered by the connections into the camper, but by the tail light circuit.

Sounds like the lights were connected to the positive power wire coming from the truck somewhere. If you’ve had the camper for a while and it suddenly started doing this with no wiring change, my guess is it’s connected on the truck side of the camper’s charge control relay and for some reason that relay is stuck in the closed position so you now have the camper battery powering those lights. The camper’s silver battery switch position wouldn’t matter if this is the case. My guess is the actual connection may be within your pigtail to the truck connector. If your camper has running lights, it had a third wire. Someone probably didn’t want to deal with tying into the tail light circuit and got creative.

If you are disconnected from the truck, power has to be coming from the camper battery. What JonR said above and also check for a loose or disconected ground at the battery or a ground buss, camper frame(if lights are grounded there).

I had a similar problem.  I purchased a new trolling motor plug for the wire from the truck to camper.  The positive and negative wires were reversed in the new plug.  I had to cut off and swap the wires to get the running lights to turn off.  I added a new connector to 6 awg wires from the truck battery.
