I'm surprised they haven't renamed Mount Leconte yet.

You never fail to find something interesting!

We sure try! :)

I'm surprised they haven't renamed Mount Leconte yet.

Joseph LeConte was an early explorer and mountaineer in the Sierra Nevada Range. Other features in the Sierra also bear his name.

Frank, thanks for your kind comments. In researching the building, engineers were involved. What is now a foot trail was once a bit wider. A narrow tracked tractor pulled up a short flatbed trailer transporting people and supplies. That explains the stout bridge I photographed.

It always amazes me how humans manage to build or at least

haul stuff into some of these far out areas.

That house in some engineering job.

Yes you sure do find the most far out places of interest.

Thanks for the trip.

Frank

Thanks for sharing your anniversary with us. Happy 39th and many more.

Your sky photos are beautiful, but that's to be expected of the Sierra sky.

Everythig about our glorious mountains is beautiful.

Appreciate you taking us along on your great trip.

Frank

Love the cloud colors at sunset/rise, and the granite!  That's a bit out of my wheelhouse, as most of the rock around here is limestone/shale.

Another fine Trip report. Below could only be written by a lucky man. Congrats on 39 years.

"The Lady got her three wishes on how she wanted to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary – a stone corral, a stone house, and the hike to Lone Pine Lake. For our fortieth, I expect something very similar will fit the bill. She is a whole heap of fun to enjoy life with."

The Le Conte's had quite an impact on both coasts/ Mount Le Conte in Tennessee is named after members of the same family and  was one of the earliest places I hiked as a kid.

There is also a Le Conte Mountain near Seattle named for the same family.
