Greetings wanderers,

I am a soon-to-be owner of a 2010 fwc hawk. Very excited is an understatement.

It does not have a furnace. However, I've learned fwc pre frames/wires campers for a furnace IF (and it's a big if) I can find the same furnace used in 2010:

Atwood hydro flame 8012-ii (also called Everest star ii)

I got one false positive; a dealer told me that Atwood had one single furnace left in stock. This ended up being an inventory glitch.

So please help if you can in locating this furnace! Any leads appreciated.

Thanks

Maybe this place?

Duck-Tec

If that's it, it is also on sale at 15% off.

I have the same one in my ATC Bobcat Shell.

Plenty of heat, low, 1.8 amps/hour draw.

Love it.

Thanks. That's is the distributer that told me there was one left. But turned out it was an error.

I called several places that came up in Google searches, but many of these pages are achieved and the product is no longer for sale.

I saw this one but don't know if in stock.

If you can't find the one you need, search the forum for "propex" , "wave",  "buddy heater", or "origo" as possible alternatives.

Good luck on your search.

Thanks, Paul. That was another site that lists it for sale, but they don't carry it anymore.

I'll (reluctantly) research the other ways of heating, but I sure would like to find the furnace that the camper is already setup for...

I just read a post in which someone with a 2014 Hawk had the same furnace installed. How could it be so difficult to find a part that only recently stopped being used?

Anyone have one sitting on a shelf?

Looking at the manuals the dimensions are the same as 7920-II which is what I have installed in my 2000 Eagle. Works great 18k BTU warms things up fast without a whole lot of power consumption. My 7920 doesn't have a side vent option though but I believe some models do...

I actually think I have one I bought for my last build, but never installed.  I'll look up the part number tonight and take a picture for you.

Don,

I won't get my hopes up yet, but that would be AMAZING!

So, I just went and checked, and unfortunately, mine is the 7912 version, which is exactly the same physically, but has a more powerful motor that pulls slightly more amps.  I'll give a good price if you want it.  Let me know.

They come up on eBay, and I think I got one from a wanted ad on Craigslist. You might want to try a Mr Buddy first they are cheaper and provide a quit heat. The atwoods are a little loud for sleeping.
