Something I've wanted to try... There's an article in TCM about Todd Salat, with a link to his web site... Beautiful work.

I'm always amazed and would like to photograph them. My problem is the viewing is not usually compatible with my work schedule, and then it's cloudy on my days off!

Definitely on my list of retirement activities though

Incredibly, I would like to see this one day! Do you think these shooting at night tips http://fixthephoto.c...g-at-night.html  will be useful in this case?

Aslaug,

I have never shot an aurora but when I plan to I will likely look at some flickr pages and see what settings were used to get shots I liked. That will give me a starting point and I will go from there :)
