Hello everyone!

I'm new to this wonderful forum and been trying to decide what the heck to do? At first I thought I might want to build my own camper van and make it the way I want, or think what I want. Then logistics set in and thought a truck pop up camper would fit the bill. Have to up grade to a bigger truck to do that. Then, while I have been searching all over the place, I discovered a GTRV conversion on a 2010 E150 Ford van in my local area, which is Washington state.

Looking at GTRV web site, they seem to be a very good company and have a quality product.

My question is, does anyone out there have any information about these conversions? The price of the van is a bit high at around $36,000+, at least I think that might be high, not really sure about that. Not bad mileage at 102000. By the pic's, looks to be in good condition. Gas mileage could be a concern because of the year.

I am still unsure what to do. I think I will go look at the van since it is fairly close. I really don't like looking unless I'm pretty serious about what I'm looking at. So far a pop up truck camper looks good to me, but probably will have quite an amount of $$ in that investment. I will pull a small trailer for a motorcycle too. Been traveling by motorcycle and camping for years and want to get inside when it is raining, lol.

I would appreciate any input on this subject. I know it is a bit of a loaded question, but I like to hear from people that do this stuff to get the best information I can to make a decision.

Thank you for your responses,

mcgee

I visited their Shop when I was doing my first Sprinter build out. They seemed like nice folks who built a quality product that holds resale. I wouldn’t hesitate on buying one of their builds if the price is right for you.

Thank you Marc for your response, really appreciate it. Always helps to get other opinions on whats out there. Wanting to do a bit of back country travel, looks like a pop up truck camper would be best for me.

I had a GTRV along with two different Sportsmobiles and two different FourWheel Campers.  I found the GTRV as good of quality if not better than the Sportsmobile.  My current rig is a Toyota Tundra with a FourWheel camper Hawk.  I do miss the vans but like the newer Toyota.  Also had a Toyota Tacoma with a FourWheel camper Fleet. I personally think the price of 36k is high for a 2010 E150 with over 100k miles.

Thanks Montreat, I'm thinking the same thing, after all it is 18 years old.
