Heco Torsion Bars/Springs

After figuring out my Lifting Issues(not wanting to raise/handle wanting to come out while cranking and top slamming down) with my Truck Camper, I placed an order for new Heco Lifting Parts(Rack Gears,Gear Housing,Vinyl Rails,Slides and Handle). 

I was getting ready for the new parts by disconnecting the whole System and found no Spring Tension on the Roof Support Bars at all. When I took the Torsion Bar Anchor Brackets off,  I found that the Inner Torsion Bars were completely removed from inside of the Support Bars. The Springs with the Hex Couplers were there just no Inner 1/2" Hex Bars.

Does anyone know if I can get replacement Inner Bars from somewhere?

Are they "Special" Material?

I found 1/2" Hex Bar from a local Metal Supplier cheap($15 for 5' of Bar).

Does anyone also know of how to Pretension the Bars?
I'm still waiting on some Instructions from the Parts Supplier(It's been a couple of weeks for the Instructions from them).

I am having the same problem.  Did you get it figured out?  I know the torsion system seemed to be an option you could add, so don't think all campers had them.  I am trying to figure out the amount of preload to put on the torsion bars.

i ordere the 1/2" Hex Bar from a Industrial Supply called McMaster-Carr.

I ordered a 3' section for $10 and cut it in half .

Hello Ghetto Johnny, did you ever fix the torrid on bar? I’m in the same boat and don’t know if there is supposed to be a special way to install the hexagonal rod
