All I have to do is leave the engine running. Not so sure I like that idea. Thieves should love it though. Might be nice for those rare occasions solar isn't sufficient.

I agree it’s not perfect but for those who camp in hot weather and have an AC it might allow them to boondock a little easier. It should also be quieter than most stand alone compressors.

It would definitely be more convenient but I can go 12 hours on a gallon of gas in my Honda 2200 Afraid to ask what idling the F250 would cost....

For short use tasks I think it’s worthy. Longer tasks, such as running an a/c unit...we’ll see.

I wonder if Ford considered a deal with Honda to design a generator to fit under the hood and maybe exhaust thru the truck. Using the truck engine surely uses more gas thereby limiting range for boondocking.

From the interview below it sounds like Ford had commercial uses in mind, like house builders or remodelers that could power a lot of tools and equipment this way.
