New Pop-up Campers!

I've been noticing new pop-up camper companies coming to the marketplace with their slant and ideas on the pop-up truck bed camper.

 

I enjoy seeing the different lifting mechanisms and materials and design of the sideliner.

 

Please add to this list if you know of more and offer your comments on the evolving designs.

 

Some of the innovations I see are pretty darn cool.

I like the Supertramp, but it will take awhile to wrap my head around the price.  At 1200 lbs, I wouldn't consider hauling it with a 1/2 ton truck.

Thanks Monte.... My big take away is the outside mounted electric linear actuators on some of these.  Brilliant!  Now I know how I will upgrade my Puma so I can use it when I can no longer lift the roof!

None of us will ever be that old!

the super tramp is interesting. if it is 1200 lbs, that is something. i wonder what the poundage differential between mid size, and full size trucks is though. 

but the pricing is a bit on the high side for me.

the super pacific is interesting with their use of extrusion and ability to add things all over the place.  and the rivnuts, or whatever they call them is a GREAT idea.  i am now wishing i would have had ATC put them all over the interior of my shell - if they would.  would make fitting out a shell a lot easier.

of our neighbors has a new pop up I haven't seen before.At a glance it looks like

the Project M from FWC but doesn't have the same rear door as the FWC.

Today I got a closer look at the name. It's a  OVRLAN pop up camper out of
Flagstaff,Az.

Very similar to the FWC project M.It has a ton of options and claims weight

of 400#+/-.

Base price around that of the "M".   

 

Haven't talked to the owner yet.

The opening line on the Bison website: "Not your grandpa's camper". That certainly defines the rest of us. I see most of the new brands are angular designs and made for big trucks and potentially big people. I've always realized my FWC is not a good fit for my physically larger friends who can't fit through the door. As I get smaller it seems that there are more people who are larger. (Must be the hormones in all those factory farm animals ).
