Just finished mounting my shower enclosure and awning. I did not want to have the washers and nuts inside because of the bed slide out. I also wanted to have a gap between camper and awning so debris wouldn't build up. I made some standoffs out of 1 1/2 '' x 1'' aluminum tube and used 4200 and 1/4'' aluminum rivets with 1/2'' heads to attach to the camper. I drilled wholes big enough for the head of my rivet gun to fit.  I put the mounting bolts and nylock nuts in before mounting to the camper. Then I had to slide the awnings on sideways. The hardest part was tightening the nuts with limited space to work inside the aluminum square tubing. I ground down an old 10mm wrench and got it done. I have had success over the years using rivets in many marine applications with good results. The awning is the heavier of the two items I mounted and it only weighs 24lbs.  We shall see how this method holds up.

That's super cool!!! I've gone back and forth on adding an awning to mine. 24#s seems pretty light for an awning. Any pics of them deployed? Pics of the gap once installed? Looking fantastic!

The gap between camper and unit is 1''. This is just enough to let the redwood duff through and also holds it off the running lights. I purchased these units based on the experience of a close friend who has put them through the test on his rig. You also can't beat the price and weight. I purchased their foldable shower floor to stay out of the mud. It fits perfect in the space between the cab and the camper outside.

Shower tent: $179.00 @ 16lb.        https://kickassprodu...fold-out-awning

Awning: $199.00 @ 24lb                https://kickassprodu...led-light-strip

Folding floor: $89.00 @ next to nothing lb
