When: October 5,6,7
Where: Anza Borrego State Park - Blair Valley http://www.desertusa...u-abpblair.html
Cost: FREE
Purpose: Owners rally. View our different rigs. Hang out. If your thinking of buying a FWC this would be a good opportunity to talk to the owners. Stan at Four Wheel camper will also attend and bring something to review.
Weather: October is the start of our desert season. Average temps High 89* and Low 60* (great sleeping weather).
Details: We will be camping at a Primitive campground with NO water, NO tables, NO bathrooms, NO fire rings. If you want a campfire bring firewood and a portable metal container (metal 3 gallon oil change pan - $10 at Ace Hardware or a cheap barbecue pan). All trash and ashes must be packed out. Bring your own water, ice, food, trash bags, firewood , etc. Nearest store about 6 miles south Butterfield Stage RV Resort.
Saturday Night: Informal potluck. Bring something to share and a table and chairs. Cocktails start at 3 pm.
What to Do: 4WD Explore. Hike, mountain bike, explore Marshall south homesite, Morteros, and Pictographs. Check out the park website at: http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=638
Driving Directions:
Nearest fuel is Julian or Borrego Springs.
From the intersection of Highway 78 and S-2 proceeed south on S-2 (sign post says "Great American Stage route 1849")about 7.5 miles.
This intsection is about 12 miles east of Julian on Hyway 78. Julian is about 90 minutes southeast (on Hyway 78) of Escondido -located in north San Diego county east of Interstate 15 ahd Hyway 78.
You will pass through the unincorporated "town" of Shelter Valley. There are NO services here. The southern city limits are about mile marker 20. Blair Valley is about 3.5 miles south through a small pass between mile marker 22 and 23. As you go through the ridge look for a sign BLAIR VALLEY on your left. Turn in here. Proceed to a state park sign board with a peaked roof. To the right you will see a sign post identified as follows: "pictographs, mortellos, marshall south homesite" and a FWC Rally sign.
Proceed straight ahead 3 miles down a bumpy, dusty, sandy, 2WD high clearance track.
Dirt road in navigable by 2WD high clearance (though I'm normally in 4WD because it needs the exercise). Road follows a ridge on your left. You will see several tracks that all lead in the same direction.
At two miles the road splits. Bear right (Look for a FWC Rally sign here) Area on left is overflow group camping. Proceed one mile on sandy road to third sign (FWC Rally). Campsite is on the left down a 100 yard path at the foot of a hill.
Look for a banner between two poles - " Four Wheel Camper".
Looking forward to seeing you there.

Thanks for putting this together Jim.
We will start doing some planning here on our end.
Could be a good escape to get out of the office for a few days ...
Please let us know if there is anything we can help with to make the event a better success, or some things we can do so that people coming will have a good time?
We can start promoting the event as well.

Wish I could make it, But daughter getting married on Oct 7th. Wife might not understand.
Bill,
Sorry you can't make it. Maybe if there is enough interest there will be one every year. We could trade off Northern California one year Southern the next.

We might have a small show date conflict with a Pomona show, but we are going to try and work around that.
I think we are just going to try and suck it up, split our staff around as needed, and send 2 sales guys to Pomona that weekend, and maybe have one person to Anza to hang out.
Hopefully me !!
I e-mailed the Anza campout dates to our dealers, Gary (Canada FWC Dealer), and Chris (Colorado FWC Dealer), and they might (might?) be in the area at the time too.
That would be really cool !
The Pomona show will be a “sales show” and all about WORK.
Joining you guys in the Desert will be FUN.
