Thanks Steve.I needed some great sounds after this weeks news from the supremes.
Take Five is one of my best liked, with Joe Morello on drums.
I started listening to Dave early 50s.One of his first albums "Jazz Impressions of the US" (hard to find),
has a track "Sounds of the Loop" Morello on that cut is fantastic.
Saw Dave a couple times at a 900 seat outdoor venue in the hills above Saratoga,Ca.

I saw them at an NCState Friends of the College concert in the 60's. I had always listened to Morello on disc and wondered how he could get so many rhythms going. Managed to get a seat in the first row directly in front of him and was filled with wonder how each hand & leg created its own rhythm and then noticed that his eyes seemed to also move independently while playing. I may have been wrong but I'm sticking to my story. Awesome performance.

Paul Morello is one of my favorites.
Yesterday when I listened to that solo on "Drummerworld"
it just blew my mind. When he started playing with his hand/fingers
truly amazing.
Yes I noticed that about his eyes.

With all the towel wringing angst of the news of here and the world... it is nice to put the headphones on have a beer or a doobie or both and rock out on those altruistic happy tunes we all thought was actually the way it would someday be... still makes me smile though.
Apologies not acoustic ... just a little balm

Doobie, that’s funny. Reminds of the first Jimmy Buffet concert I took my wife to. Back in the BC, (Before children) era I took her to see him at the Gorge Amphitheater, then known as the Champs de Brionne Music Theatre at George Wash, a beautiful natural outdoor venue. He was on tour after coming out with Off to See the Lizard. Recently married and actually having what my father declared a responsible job, I sprang for the select seating just up and behind the table seating. As the crowd got into the spirit, dancing and singing and “stuff”, someone started a magnum sized doobie going down our isle. As the next song started and everyone got going again someone passed it off and into her lap. Her look of horror conveyed that the cops were certainly rappelling out of the sky to haul her to jail as she tried to slide out the back of her chair and disappear. To save her I picked it up, blew on the hot end to spark up the glow bud and passed it on. After a couple minutes she regained her composure, decided she wasn’t going to jail, and said she didn’t believe such things actually went on at concerts, at least in the expensive seating. I decided we better skip seeing Jimmy Cliff.

Don’t know how I got my response in the Buckland quote box. I guess I’ll need to be more careful in the future.

Dan, you can edit your post to fix it. Select your text, cut it, then paste below the quote box… I tried it with this post.

Peace Love and Understanding ....Nick Lowe... sang it differently (Then Elvis Costello ...tho that was good) The first sounds more real.
Then there is "Back on the Chain Gang" ... with violins
May the 4th be with you!!
