Camper,

thank you that was a great write up.  I drive a 1/2 ton Nissan Titan with a hawk on the back. After an accident, insurance was going to replace my stock suspension, and i immediately called up Deaver. My instructions to them were not as scientific as yours. More like "i have  a pop up camper. It says 800lbs on the door, but i think it is more like 1200lbs. Can you build me a spring for that?"  Their $ quote was exactly the same as the cost of stock leaf springs - $800 plus shipping. Insurance paid it up.

Installed them atop my Firestone air bags with about 15lb, 10lb and cant tell the difference all that much.

I am going to install Bilsteins and Rear sway bar next. And with that, my suspension mods should be finished.

The Tundra TRD has the Bilsteins stock and I added the TRD sway bar.  It made a world of difference.  My wife drove the truck and camper this last week end for the first time.  She drove it on I5 through the Central Valley north of Sacramento. After a couple of hours she wanted to know what the big deal was and why I had spent so much time obsessing over the suspension.  She said it drove like her Venza.  Right.  Next trip she is going to try driving in the mountains.

The rear springs written about in this post are for sale. $250. The springs began life as a set of 2015 TRD (tow pkg) springs that were re-arched by Deaver Springs in L.A. Two additional leaves were added. The goal was to bring the rear ride height back to factory height with a 2014 fully equipped Hawk in the bed. They have performed flawlessly for 30,000 miles.

Why are they for sale? I recently built an aluminum flat bed for the Tundra with a FWC Hawk Flat Bed Camper and because of the new weight distribution, I needed to do some additional spring work. I live in SF Bay Area and have no plans to visit L.A. In the near future so I opted to install a set of OME Dakar rear springs with two additional add a leaves.

Please send me a PM if you are interested or I will try to monitor this post and respond to questions here. I am going to list these with photos in the gear exchange.
