I'll weigh in on this:

Yes, we've mentioned BBRSP as part of a plan -- not that we have a real itinerary.

Besides Big Bend, I plan to be out wandering for up to 2 months -- 6 weeks at least.  Big Bend is so far from Bend that I figured I might as well make the most of my gas $$, so I'll be visiting various points between there and here -- mostly after the BB part of the trip.

Thanks for the ideas, Foy, and others. :)

Very nice!  Looking forward to following along.  I'll be chained to my desk and monitors all of January-April, so I'll be eager to read about and see Big Bend Country.  The geology down there is off the hook.

Before or after us,  Fernweh?  Which direction will you be coming and leaving from?

We have reservations in the RG Village Feb 4-6, going to check out the East side of the park. Then up to Chisos Basin Feb 6-9 to hike and explore the center areas. Ending Feb 9-12 either in a backcountry roadside site somewhere near the Elena Canyon Area or off the Maxwell as far down as we can. May also check out Cottonwood if BC sites are taken.

We're using this 15 day window to try out our FWC camper and break it in. Just purchased used last fall and have an itch to explore. Getting aquainted with the camper these past few warm weekends in Wisconsin. Love our Ranger, its going to be a great chance to see what we can do.

Looks like you'll be almost a week before us (Doug & I), Fernweh.

Happy trails!

Sure, let's try to meet up.  MarkBC and I plus two other friends will be in TX starting 15th (Davis Mnts SP), BBRSP (16-17),  BBNP's Chisos Basin (18-21) and Rio Grand Village (22-24).  After that some of us will probably still be in BBNP, likely in some backcountry sites.
