So many people use SS8800B+ POWER Crank-Up Speaker Stand for roof lift. How about

Keeper 05059 Ratcheting Cargo Bar?

Here is the link in Amazon, https://www.amazon.c...0P2XJ2B5SYKQ788

Have anyone tried?

I have one of these and have used it successfully many times to raise the roof on my Grandby Shell.  We leave our bed in the extended position full time.  So, the point of access to raise the roof is closer to the middle of the camper rather than forward, making it more difficult.  I set the base on a cooler on the floor and place a small board where the top side contacts the ceiling to distribute the pressure.   Once I jack it up a bit, I can easily lift it with the assistance of the gas struts.

The benefit of the speaker stand is you can use a drill so its very fast.

Do people remove the tripod base from the speaker stand? Seems as though the base would make raising the front difficult.

I found Harbor Freight has Ratcheting Cargo Bar.

I chose Ratcheting Cargo Bar because

- My roof does not have heavy gears, flexible solar panel and rack.

- It can extend by hand without using ratchet.

- It is smaller when stored.

I'll find whether it works for my roof which does not have struts.

Thanks for the info.

I have struts and don't have a problem so far,but as I age this might come in handy.
