I’m not sure what this means long term, but I am optimistic. While still a great tool, Flickr has languished for years.

I've had a Smugmug account for about 10 years, been very happy with it.

Flickr is so much larger than Smugmug that I don't understand how this could possibly work out well for either company. It must have been a good price.
