I found some highly reflective tape about 1 “ wide that pulls off in 2” lengths. Wrapped a piece around each lower corner on the jack brackets. Doesn’t prevent daytime collisions but helps a lot in avoiding them at night especially if using a headlamp.

Stuck adhesive foam on them and duct taped it over that...so far it works...wanged my head and got the message...never thought of grinding them down....but even that will only slightly blunt the impact....

I built a flyrod vault. Holds two flyrods with reels. Used aluminum angle and flat stock, bolted to the jack brackets on the driver's side.

I fabbed up a simple rack using 1" square tubing.

Got some Tacoma bed C-channel rails from a junkyard.

Put it all together so I mount, strap down, and move around any of my too many accessories.

Fuel pack, shower, axe/shovel, chairs, random stuff.

It's not 100% complete, but its good enough for now.  Sorry for the crappy pics.

This was by far better than drilling any holes into the camper.

OK, i have to ask... in the first pic of the back of your camper, what does the ski binding mounted to the propane door do?

I'm glad you asked!  It opens beers of course!

There should be a previous post. I will get something posted.
Click on Wander the West, then click on hiking, biking, and floating and scroll to my January 17th post. Scroll through my post. I had several places where I mounted it, but the final place is on the driver's side up high. There is also the link to the original design. Good luck.

Alley-Kat & Others...

I love the outside fold down table idea, but will never have the luxury of a friend teaching me to weld stainless steel to make one. Hmmm... Alternately, it would be easy to bolt together a setup with hinges for the table top.

The only thing missing is the table top...

Can anybody brainstorm a thin, rigid, lightweight, affordable strip of some material that could be bolted to these hinges for the table top? Something easily obtainable & shortened with a simple saw, a drill, & bolts.

This worktop is close, but too heavy & expensive. Perhaps a strip of metal bolstered with 1" square tubing?

A solution is out there, just waiting for us to stub our toes on it.

Edit added: Wallguards?
