Dear Photographers,

We are proud to announce the Category Winners and Highly Honored finalists in the 2018 Windland Smith Rice International Awards! 

Out of more than 26,000 images from photographers in 59 countries, approximately 1,000 photos made it into the semi-final round of judging. The collection of 123 winning photographs are published in the 2018 Fall/Winter Special Awards Edition of Nature‚Äôs Best Photography magazine on press now, and 60 were selected for the Smithsonian Exhibition opening on October 29, 2018.

Well my gal, Carol received 1 image Highly Honored, Osprey dropping a needle fish in birds category.

 

In Africa Wildlife I received 2 Highly Honored images. Baby elephants twisted trunks and Warthog chase.  The Warthog chase will be printed and on display with the other 60 images at the National Museum of Natural History in Washington DC!

 

We are very thrilled to have our images been selected.

Carol and I thank you for all your kind words!

 

The opening ceremony at the museum is November 15.  I was invited but had to decline as we will be sitting in blinds in Texas hoping to get some more stellar captures.  We do plan to make a museum tour when the cherry blossoms are blooming, and weather is good.  It will be great to see my image on the wall and take a few images with me next to it.
