Evening folks,

a fellow Granby owner and myself are considering a few days/nights somewhere between;

  • Palm Springs,
  • Joshuah Tree,
  • Lake Mead,
  • Death Valley,
  • Valley of Fire,
  • Laughlin or Zzyzx.

For me it's to have some warm for a bit (coming from Fairplay CO we won't get above 32F for a few days)

Could be any part of DEC 25- JAN 5th.

Anyone maybe already planning to be somewhere similar ?

He is coming solo, I will be with my weinerdog and my Schnauzer which both ride with me on my mountain bike.

Thanks in advance

Let us know.

I just checked projected temps for Baker, CA. which sort of sits in the middle of your potential Cal desert spots to visit. Highs in the 50s and 60s but 30s and maybe 40s overnight. Localized areas could be much colder due to terrain features and elevation. I won’t be able to make it out but sounds like fun...enjoy!

Thanks Mighty Dodge. 30 at night looks to be about 25 warmer than my lows here so sounds OK.

Camarillo temps look quite nice.

Thanks Patrick

Rain is what desert flowers need to bloom...although this is a bit late for this years bloom.

Enjoy your trip.

In a nutshell;

Left the cold;

Made it to Lake Mead a few nights was awesome;

Avoided this on the way down;

Left Mead and headed to Joshua Tree which made me embarassed to be an American. It was a mess. So I headed to Palm Springs and hit an  RV park and rode the bicycle to see the local sights;

My weinerdog enjoyed it and it was a cool little RV park,

Through Sedona for a few days;

Got home to Fairplay last night and Mr. Bobcat in the driveway today.

Yikes,

I wondered about that. I should consider myself lucky.
