Has anyone replaced the facet in there camper with something that is easier to use? I’m looking for a talker neck to wash and rinse dishes using the whole sink to just the rear third. I do have an electric pump. All pics and info are greatly appreciated

krs,

Is it the one where the handle is a hand pump?  You might post a picture of what you currently have.

I had a Dometic SMEV sink put in my Panther but have had several other campers in the past.  The one I currently have folds down to fit under a glass top and the handle controls the electric pump.

When trying to fit a taller faucet be sure to take the limited height when the top is down into account.  In my old FWC Eagle, the side fabric rested on the faucet when the top was lowered.

Because of this height limitation you may want to investigate a folding faucet like this.

This one looks to not have the handle pump so you would have to rely on the electric pump.  Then of course check that it isn't so tall that it will not fold into the sink when lowered.  And also check the sink hole size and then what you would need to mod to attach the water line.

Good luck, it would be a good mod.

Sidetracking maybe a little... I am thinking of using the flush/glass sink in my new build.  What faucet did you get put in?  Are you happy with it?

Hi Vic,

I have the Dometic SMEV single burner/sink combo.  We never cook in the camper and only occasionally heat water for coffee or doing dishes.  I'm not that comfortable having the cooking smells in our sleeping space.

Originally I wanted to get just a sink and no stove.  But when I found the single burner one I went ahead with the combo model.

To answer your question, the sink is great.  I like having the faucet control the pump.  The little pump button on the gauge panel is disconnected.  I also like the dish drainer on the side of the sink.  On my version, it covers the burner.

The disadvantage is that I don't have a hand pump.  If the electric pump fails, I have to go outside for water (the water tank drain is outside).  It hasn't happened but you never know.

The burner doesn't seem to burn as hot as the old two burner I had in my old FWC.  But we haven't used it much so I may be imagining things :)

Thanks for the pic.  I also don't really want to cook inside.  However, my question is about the actual faucet on that unit... I have a line on a sink for cheap, but it doesn't come with a faucet.  I will have an electric pump.

Vic, I ordered the sink from Panther RV along with the recommended faucet which I think is "CAN Srl RB1487 Fold-Down Fresh Water Faucet - Cold Tap". It has worked well for me.

Ok I’m getting in the camper tomorrow and will post a pic. Yes it is the the hand pump version with electric pump. I would love to keep a hand pump since it’s a water saver but it’s nearly impossible to do dishes with the small spout.

I did a HD faucet that was on sale black Friday. Only use the cold side, hot is capped off. Has a light that is blue for cold and should be red for hot. I thought that was stupid but does let me see how much water in the coffee pot if the lights are off and wife is sleeping. It does swivel side to side.

You billhar I assume there is no manual pump? Does anyone know if there is another sink other than the stock atc one that has a manual pump? Can’t seem to find one?
