When have any of you found the White Rim Trail close to vehicle traffic

I got a confusing message from Canyonlands NP, Island In The Sky, yesterday that said I needed to confirm my camping reservations [3-1 to 3-5] two week in advance of reservations to confirm that the WRT was open to vehicles.  I understood that the 2 weeks in advance confirmation was so that if anyone backed out of reservations then others could get them.

We leave over three weeks before our reservations there and will have neither cell phone nor email connections until 2-29 when we spend the night at Deadhorse Point SP.

Sooooo...I know weather or loss of roadway could close the WRT at anytime; but have any of you found the WRT closed?

Thanks,

Phil

Well, I guess since I was asking for first hand knowledge, it is good that nobody has tried the White Rim Trail only to find it closed!

But as is said:  "absence of proof is not proof of absence"...will find out on 3-1.

We were there in mid June last year and 2 spots were closed due to flooding.  Snow melt last spring and summer were record setting.

We found the Shafer entrance closed in January, and the area around Potato Bottom was not closed, but was close to impassable without chains as well.

Thanks folks...kind of guessing that mid-June would have a lot of water [what were the "two spots"?] and Shafer gets closed [as it just was] due to ice..but other access points to WRT... so far not a heavy snow year down there

I will not risk a 'clay bog'; snow no problem...been there, done that...how much rain will be the issue for us prior to our arrival on 3-1 and of course we could spend a lot more than the planned five nights on the WRT if an un-predicted storm catches us out there..

Thanks for the input...
