This trip was the longest to date for us newbies with our new Grandby. Using the ALLSTAYS app was great for planning camp stops, fuel stops, and a host of other information. Supplies and personal items were packed in the camper for two humans and a golden retriever. Our Grandby has a ton of storage options with plenty of room for a long trip. We packed enough food and clothing for five days knowing we would have to shop and do laundry on the fly. Our camper was stored in our shop on my DIY dolly and our first loading since the purchase.

Carol was a great help on the loading process.

Our departure was delayed with an overnight snow. Our first camp stop in Tennessee was a state park called Old Stone Fort. We picked this stop based on distance from our home and the history of the site. This is an archeological park dedicated to the preservation of this 2,000 year old American Indian ceremonial site. Lots of interesting things to see: water falls, the fort, trails, and a museum.

Our next stop in Georgia Dames Ferry Campground on Lake Juliette. Overnight stop with a lake view.

Total trip miles 3,010. F-150/Grandby mpg 13.8. This trip was a nice break from winter here in IL. Lots of folks were interested in our camper, most had never heard of FWC. The combo handled great and we had a wonderful trip. Paige loved dipping her paws in the Atlantic and we enjoyed the warm temps. Camper is clean and back on the dolly waiting for the next adventure.

Ah, yes, Florida in winter!

Love the photos.  I've been going down there most winters since 2006 and in fact am headed there next week.  Your post is getting me off my duff to prepare more thoroughly for that trip.

May I ask where you took the iguana photo?  Your Fort Clinch and St John's River ferry photos suggest North Florida but I've only seen them in South Florida.

Thanks for the nice trip.

Always great to get away from the cold/snow of the mid-west.

Good looking rig.

The iguana pic was from Lake Okeechobee. We spent two days there visiting friends that stay for two months. I spent a day fishing with a buddy 8-12’ gators are plentiful in Okeechobee!

She had a great time. Took me three hours to clean the fur covered sand dunes from the truck interior!

Thanks! You western guys are a great inspiration. Planing a September west trip this year. Colors and mountains with the kids back in school. I like to experience things with the crowds finished for the seasons.
