I just ordered the LT's and had them installed. The XLTs just seemed like too much for my current set up.  I'll share thoughts. Appreciates everyone posts. Thanks

Just came across this recall affecting Cooper Discoverer tires, among others. Might be relevant to those on this thread: https://www.consumer...all-separation/

Cooper Tire & Rubber Company is recalling 430,000 tires from its Cooper, Hercules, Mastercraft, and Mickey Thompson brands because of concerns that the tires might develop sidewall bulges or separation from the sidewall that could lead to tire failure. The recall includes replacement tires sold through Les Schwab, Pep Boys, and Tire Kingdom.

The affected models include certain Discoverer, Evolution, Courser, Deegan, Adventurer, Hercules, Back Country, Multi-Mile Wild Country, and Big O tires in 18- and 20-inch sizes that were manufactured from Feb. 1, 2018, through Dec. 1, 2019.

The company warns that some tires may exhibit a bulge on the sidewall. It advises, “Driving at high speeds may cause this condition to occur and should be avoided until the tires have been inspected and replaced.”

These problems were identified from a higher-than-usual return rate for these tires.

The company will contact customers in late March 2021.

Thanks for the additional info.

I have a set of 265/75/R16 Hercules I purchased

Aug 2018 but this size isn't one listed.

I'll check with the tire store to be sure though.

Yes, I sure hope this does not affect the quality of Cooper tires.

An update. I now have 30,000 miles on our second set of Cooper AT3's. These have been used hard in the back country, especially over the last year. I continue to be very pleased with the real world performance these tires have given us. After the lackluster performance of two sets of BF Goodrich all terrains on our truck -

BF Goodrich All Terrain KO Tires - a Personal Critique

I am glad to have a tire that works so much better for us. The tires currently have a good deal of tread remaining and I expect to get another 15,000 miles out of them. If these were the BF Goodrich tires, I'd be hoping to get another 5000 miles. With 30,000 miles on the BF Goodrich tires, I'd be complaining about the tire noise. The Goodrich tires always grew noisier with the miles. The Coopers noise level has not changed.

I am very happy with the Cooper tires.

I am on my second set of coopers and couldn't be happier. I got new tires when the old ones had 40,000 miles on them with plenty left but I was headed to death valley and decided to get some new ones. The last set of bfgs I had were chunked up and worn out at $25,000 MI.

Did ski3pin mention if he's got the LT or XLT's?

I am coming from the BFG KO/2's.  Need new tires.
I run 235/85R16's..  They don't have the XLT's in that size.  I'm a little concerned w/ sand traction.  Soft sand has been my biggest challenge, but airing down the KO/2's has always gotten me out.. They have pretty grippy sidewalls.  More equivallent to theXLT's

I'm just wanting more details, before I switch brands.

Thanks!
