Hey,

I have been a long time lurker here, using the collective wisdom to plan and purchase my 2019 Tacoma Off-road with a 2019 FWC Fleet.  The camper was purchased through Rocky Mountain FWC and truck mods done by Juniper Overland.

The rig's primary purpose is base camp for our outdoor activities which includes photography, kayaking, canoeing, birding, hiking, snowshoeing, XC skiing, fishing, and ice fishing.

I just retired and fishing this fall and winter has been transformed.  Getting in and out of wet waders when it is 20 degrees outside is almost enjoyable.  And even ice fishing has been more enjoyable (picture attached was last week ice fishing in MN.)

Thanks to all on WTW for your unselfish sharing of years of experience and wisdom - it has made my selection process so much easier and the final product is perfect for my needs.  As I have said about many of the forums that I have been a member of over the years - I stand on the shoulders of incredible people.

Thanks

Ken

Congratulations on your new camper.   I'll be placing my order through Rocky Mountain FWC within the next few days.

What extra work did you have Juniper Overland do with your suspension, and are you happy with the choices you made?

Leaning towards a full OME lift + suspension upgrade before getting the camper installed.

Also, are you based out of Colorado, or living out of your camper full time?

Rebelle:

I did exactly what juniper recommended - OME suspension, SPC upper control arms, Firestone airbags and daystar cradles, E tires and I added the ARB twin compressor.

Everything has been perfect. I have not driven the truck without the camper, so no experience there. My only negative has been that the gas millage is a few MPG lower than anticipated, but I have stopped looking and I'm just enjoying myself.

Hope this helps

That's a neat use of the CLAM tent.  Is that version insulated?

Vic:

Yes, it is insulated and very cozy. I have a heater that connects to the second propane tank, but it has to get pretty cold to need it.
