[RTR]

Looks like you can get a really inexpensive ~$25 pop-up shower shelter on ebay... for those of us that have outdoor shower connections for our truck campers.

 

Anyone have any thoughts on the best setup?  Most affordable, reasonable option that works?

Hello RTR

 We went with a floor less tent, one which enables us to stand up in has a zipper flap at the top enabling the shower to enter easily. Large zipper door, a handy pocket for soap and such. Place a small table outside for the towel and any clothing. Use the door mat to stand on when showering. No poles which has the flexible ones sewn in to the tent always there and folding up a breeze.

 

The Best setup is probably a personal preference.

I just bought the Zero Declination shower/potty tent. 

 

Not a cheap option but the quality is great and it set-ups in seconds.

I was not happy with the stand alone units as they can get blown around rather easily unless you somehow secure them.

I ended up getting a Quick Pitch shower enclosure that is mounted to the side of our camper and deploys in about 20 seconds..

 

Here’s a picture of it getting installed at Hallmark (BTW those are NOT my biceps!)

I don’t like the stand alone units either.  I have two 48 inch locking drawer slides mounted under my overhang.  Just pull them out connect the ends with my bungie cloths line and hook the shower curtain to them and the cloths line.  I clip shower head to the one furtherest rear and use leveling blocks upside down as the shower floor.  Works great.  Fast to put up and down and unaffected by wind.  I just had the drawer slides left over from a previous project so not sure what I paid for them, but remember they were a little spendy.

We just got ours, will probably install today or tomorrow. How did your install go? What model camper did you put it on, on where on the camper? I am planning on through-bolting it per the instructions on the upper portion of the driver-side wall of our Hawk side dinette, to get it close enough to our shower valve. I am hoping there is room between our water heater exhaust and our furnace exhaust so we don't have to worry about melting it.

Zero Declination .... you could check this thread out with my install on this page & the one after. It was worth it, at least part of the extra $$, to have everything neatly stored outside.

After reading this thread and other similar threads, I tried the cheap and easy option first. Here's my portable shower enclosure that I made from 1" PVC pipe, cord, and eyelets from the hardware store, and a shower curtain and hooks from Bed Bath and Beyond. Total cost less than $50. I think the most expensive part was the extra-wide 108" curtain. It works great.
