Hi all

any cheap recovery boards have the same mount hole spacing (and nest with?) actual MaxTrax MK2?

I do own a pair of legit actual MaxTrax MK2, and I have the legit MaxTrax mount on the side of our RV that holds FOUR  MaxTrax.

Here is a long shot - do any of the cheap recovery boards *nest* well with MaxTrax, and have the same mounting hole spacing, so I could put my 2 legit plus 2 cheap versions, all together on the one MaxTrax rack?

and.... on the somewhat likely chance that the knockoffs WONT stack cleanly with my legit MaxTrax... any chance that at least the mounting holes line up, so at the least I could keep my valuable MaxTrax pair safely at home, and i have the cheap pair mounted, to look cool, for fun (on trips that I wont need them) ...  and if they got stolen i would me much less sad.

These are the legit ones I have: Maxtrax MKII Vehicle Recovery and Extraction Device

Thanks. :-)

P.s. these $61 (delivered) ones I know will NOT nest with MaxTrax, and the holes will not line up, but perhaps I could drill some holes myself? Maybe.... unsure.

I’ve kind of been looking at those. The fact that they appear to be twice as thick as MaxTrax stacked leads me to think they won’t stack well with them. This guy shows their comparison in case you haven’t seen this.

Having personally witnessed failures of numerous cut-rate MaxTrax copies, I'd be much more inclined to concentrate on theft-proofing the mount. But then if all you really want them for is to look cool . . .

true. having since done a lot of research.... it does indeed seem like the MaxTrax copies sure do seem to suck, across the board.

pun intended. ;-)

Yea you already have the mount for 4 stacked and own 2 boards now.  Find 2 more used on for sale boards some place if your looking to save money.

Buy 2 more, stack on the mount and secure from theft and move on.  When you do need to use them you have them.

If you did get the lesser ones and spent time modified to mount and they break... You have to spend even more money to replace, modify and try again.  Or buy once and cry,  Well you already cried when you spent a whole lot more money on the truck and camper.  Spend a little percentage to have good quality boards to get your investment free and moving again.

Just a thought....
