In researching the DC-DC charger from Victron, I came across an excellent 70 page tutorial. It explains ohm's law and other relevant principles in language that most anybody can understand. It covers how to hook up equipment - and why it should be done in particular ways. It covers all the nitty gritty of wire selection, connector types, and how to make the connections. It's not a promo piece for Victron, just very useful information.

Incidentally, there are 3 proper ways to connect two batteries in parallel (page 19).

Thanks! This is extremely useful. Much appreciate you posting the pdf. I know enough to re-wire a garage and change out a car battery, but have no idea what many of our experts on this forum are talking about when they talk power/ solar/ batteries/ wire sizes, etc. I know what all the words mean, but they don't jell into anything practical. This guide does that.

WOW! Thanks for sharing that Jack! That did seem to pretty much line it all out, at least in my skimming.

Now if only I can have it digested some when my Hawk arrives. :/
