My wife found some self-adhesive SS foil that was impressed to look like subway tiles that she added to the walls around the stove in the old camper. We haven't gotten that far along in the new one.

As I read this thread I’m sitting in my Everest and looking at the cover in question.

 

Behind ours on the left is a stainless steel (?) backsplash that covers about 40% of the back wall area. The remaining are is the window and shade...I would not want to get any cooking splatter on that if I could help it.

That's kind of where we are too. Old camper had just a wall back there, so the back-splash was easy. New to us camper has a window and a metal levelor shade.

Since I camp in bear country a lot I don't cook anything in the camper that needs a 'spatter guard'.

I removed our metal lid on our two burner Suburban cooktop years ago without issues.

We took ours off two years ago. Never lost a grate yet and now have more counter space when cooking...
