Did you ever wonder where those high mountain lake fish come from?

I know there are several members here who enjoy a nice hike up to a secluded lake and wetting a fly (I’m thinking of you Ski!)

The Lady has witnessed fish drops - from the ground - a couple of times while hiking. Incredible mountain pilots who need to be at the top of their game.

 

There has been a lot of positive changes and improvements in alpine fisheries management over the last few decades, for our benefit and the environment.

That's some seriously skilled mountain flying right there!

 

It's a long way from "bucket biology" as practiced in the past, and today by unscrupulous anglers.
