Ok folks....last tire question for a while....I am running 275 65 18's on my 2015 Tundra with a Hawk flatbed.  I need winter tires.  I love the Coopers but if I want to stay on my original size tires, I need to go LT instead of XLT.  I can run the XLT's in 275 70 but I don't want to get any worse gas mileage. They are both E rated and they are both 3 snowflake rated.  Anyone have a problem with the LT's with that much weight?

I switched from 265/65 18 AT3 LTs to 275/65 18 so that I could get a E Rated Wildpeak. I haven't noticed a drop in mileage. My guess is that diligent inflation habits would have more to do with that than the minimal change in size. Just a guess though.

That is a very minor change in tire size.  Any diff in fuel economy will more likely from other changes, like inflation pressure or driving habits!

I have the 275/70/18 XLTs on a '17 Tundra.  I can't say they have hurt my gas mileage at all.  With a empty truck I typically get 16mpg on the highway.  Factory rating is 15mpg.

I went up a little to 265/70 R18 Cooper AT3 XLT on my ‘07 Tundra and even with my Hawk Shell on it I am getting at least as good gas mileage than a I did with the old Michelin’s! And they are quieter.

That sounds like the best choice if want to stay close to the stock size of tires. We'll work on uncle's new Tundra project soon after we finished installing the suspension from 4Wheelonline onto the Wrangler and clear the garage. We'll look into that size of XLT.
