If you have an older camper with a "Converter/charger" you'll want to disable it when moving to a smart charger. IMO you'll want to disable it regardless of how you plan to charge the camper battery(ies) as they are not good chargers. The unit in our first camper would boil it's 2GC's. I don't know how well the unit in our current camper worked because I convicted it by association and disabling it was one of the first changes that I made..
