Your giving me lots of ideas! Love the side tables off the flat bed. Have a wonder time!!!
Rockaway,
Yep, we love the flip-down side rails/utility tables as well. It's one of our favorite mods. What a difference they have made.

One indirect advantage of a flatbed is that the camper sits just a tad higher on a flatbed than on a traditional pickup body. And as a result the camper's overhang sits a few inches higher over the truck's cab. This creates an opportunity to utilize the roof of the truck for carrying a few low profile pieces of equipment behind the Maxtrax, as shown in this photo. We can fit, for example, folding camp chairs, long-handle shovel, odds and ends like that We modified our Yakima Q towers and round crossbars by running four lengths of steel Superstrut (half-height, slotted) between the two crossbars and secured them to the crossbars with stainless u-bolts. 12 guage Superstrut is a strong, heavy duty, relatively lightweight 1 5/8 inch wide C-channel, that comes finished in a gold-colored, electroplated finish, which is highly corrosion resistant, very strong, and provides a good substrate for the adhesion of paint. It's perfect for building out a roof rack to your own specs. The slots running down the top of the c-channel are convenient for thru-bolting stainless pad eyes and other hardware for strong tie down points. Superstrut channels are inexpensive at places like Home Depot. They are typically used for hanging and mounting heavy commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. If you have the room under your overhang a roof rack can provide you with additional outdoor storage space.
