OK, here is what I have decided to use in the bed for the connection between the Four Wheel Camper and my truck. The system can accept 6 AWG wire and handle 70 Adc and this is what each wire will be used for:

  • 12 Vdc at 30 amps running from vehicle battery to DC charge controller
  • ground running from engine block to DC charge controller
  • 12Vdc running from 7-pin trailer connector to camper running lights

Thanks for posting this. I was looking for a simpler plug than using the Anderson connectors. I was not looking forward to running another connector for the running lights. I can confirm this will work with 4 awg wire just need the 4 awg ferrules. Installed mine today as I get my Hawk this week. The DC to DC charger I am going to install will only draw a max of 60 amps so this perfect.

I did find a surface mounted holder that would hold an Anderson connector on Ebay. It looks to be 3d printed and came from Australia. That is what I was going to use until this plug came along.
