Has anyone installed the Titan spare tire auxiliary fuel system in a full size truck with a gas engine?

I respect the fact that Titan advertises them for diesel applications but if this was an off-highway or agricultural vehicle could the advertised diesel system be used for gasoline applications? From what I gather the tank material would be fine either way, the inlet for a diesel is slightly larger when compared to an unleaded gasoline one so the intake is fine, my guess is that the hoses and other fitting are just fine also. My one outstanding questions at this point centers on the fuel pump and if it is diesel specific or can be used for gasoline also.

Has anyone installed one of these in a gas application or know why it can not be done?

The issue is usually the evaporative emissions system.   As diesel is so much less volatile than gas that an evaporative emissions system is not needed for diesel thus an aux tank is much easier.

Very good point rando - I had not thought about that. Now I wonder if it would be possible to splice in the EVAP connections with the existing tank - has anyone ever done this before?

And even if that was possible would the electronic system be confused since it was expecting a certain pressure in a certain amount of time? I believe I recall reading somewhere where someone stated the EVAP system and associated pressurization has a 100 gallon capacity.

Search for extra gas tank ram power wagon. These are thirsty beasts with a small tank. Unfortunately the consensus on most forums is that it is a no go secondary to emissions issues. There is also an issue with a tank not being designed to handle the expansion of gasoline versus diesel and overflow issues as I recall from researching a while back.

I installed a Long Range America auxiliary gas tank in my Jeep Gladiator and it almost doubled my capacity. They make tanks for some full size trucks as well. I have a slight issue with the evaporative system which occasionally throws a code but it is easily erased. You might want to check them out...
