Hello All, I am new to wander the west and am installing a 200W grape solar panel, victron 75/15 mppt, and 712 bmv monitor into my 2005 eagle, which is pre-wired for solar. There is an sae plug on the roof and I can see the wires coming in, coiled behind the front pop-up panel, going into the side paneling on the drivers side, and I believe terminating under the sink. My house battery is on the passenger side under the roll over couch. The wires do not appear to go to the battery

Question: should I cut the wires after they come into the roof and then splice in a section that I can run behind the pop-up panel and then down towards the battery? I want the controller next to the battery and would prefer the monitor on the drivers side near the thermostat but might be easier to keep it closer to the battery on the passenger side. I don't know where to run the wires, unsure if I should remove paneling, or need to drill some holes.

Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated. I have seen an older posts of Vic's with the controllers, shunt, etc mounted to a plywood board which I think I will also do.

Best,

If you cannot see where the wires teminate I suggest that you contact FWC give them the model and serial number of your camper.  Ask where the solar wires are terminated.

Mine were coiled up near the water pump on the front driver side of the camper.  I had to crarefully unscrew and pull the front panel of the cabinet off to access them. The wires had yellow crimp butt connectors.  All I had to do was crimp in 10 ga extension wires and run them under the front seat of the camper (above the floor and below the front window) over to the battery compartment which is under the roll over couch where I installed my house battery bank and solar controller.

I had a 2014 eagle shell, before my current hawk, the solar wires terminated behind a small wooden block on the drivers side in the corner above the bench at the cab end of the Eagle, remove the screws if you have that block, its approx 2" square and the wires may be there.
