Okay sooooo

There was nothing wrong (except the charger got really hot....)

The blue light on the battery means the charge is 65-100%. Doesn't say anything about the blue light in the book so not knowing what it was led me to wait and find out. That's the technician in me.....

Aventon explained that and said the charger does gets hot.... if it gets that hot again I'll ask them to let me exchange it....

I came home, popped the battery in and turned on the bike and the battery was at 91% so it had been charging fine when I unplugged it due to the heat issue.

I had also mentioned that the rear brakes were spongy. They are hydraulic. Aventon told me to take it to a bike shop and have them bled and they would reimburse the cost. Can't argue with that :)

They also said if anything was damaged (I had to bend the rear fender away from the tire because it got schmused in travel) to take a pic and they'd send a replacement.

I'm happy with this, just wish it hadn't taken 4 days but it is a weird environment out there for all of us and we have to get used to folks having employee issues and stock issues and who knows what else :)

Will take the bike out in a while and ride around. I need to get a helmet and help because I have to get that 73 lbs up and down my 10 step porch! Working on a ramp to assist :)

Well this bike is a beast! At 73 lbs getting it up my front porch is impossible without help. I have a shed and am working on some kind of attachment that would make getting the bike out of the shed much harder should someone break in. For Ranch style homes or homes with garages this is not an issue.

Next item is carrying it on the truck. It blocks the door if I put it in the back so I have a front receiver hitch coming. If that doesn't work out the only other viable option is a swing gate.

As far as riding it, there is a learning curve but the biggest issue is the only place I have to ride it right now is my neighborhood and dogging cars is not fun. I will need some kind or a rear view mirror but I didn't get it to ride on city streets so when it gets where it belongs I think it will be great.

I haven't had to charge it again so not sure how hot that charger will get but will keep all updated. It is a nice E-Bike but that's not the same as a bicycle so just understand that any E-Bike is going to be heavier and a bit cumbersome to move around on foot but very useful on trails esp with hills and long treks with gear :)

Finally got this bike on a rack on the truck to take to the shop and get the rear brakes bled. It has hydraulic brakes.

When I get it back going to take it somewhere fun to ride.

Still wondering what will happen when I run the battery down and have to charge it from less than 50%..... Will do it on a metal surface to sink some of that heat away.....
