I have read a lot about the older flaps and I like them.  I have some light support metal bent up so I can open and lower the flaps WITHOUT a ladder.  That was really the only drawback for me, opening them up.  I can leave them rolled up all the time if I want to and even close the top.  I also like them for keeping most  of the sun out.

video attached showing the benefit on a HOT summer day when it rains all day and you need air flow AND stay dry.

Nice looking mod.

I did that to my flaps just after I got my 2009 Bobcat.

I have used them rain/sun.They are a great addition.

Thanks for posting.

My '98 Grandby flaps were worn out so I cut them off.

Nice set up you got.

It's been raining here, and have now found/discovered a use for said rain flaps.

Despite having interior window closures, rain still gets in and pools at the bottom of the clear window.    :(
