I'm sure they'd rather not have spectators and souvenir hunters near the crash site.

My guess, based on the limited hints, is somewhere South of Harry Wade Rd. & North of Ft Irwin in/near the Owlshead Mtns. where there is only one road in or out. A part of the Park that has been on my list to explore, but clearly that isn't going to happen any time soon.
