We have a FWC Hawk Shell on order, and need to make decision on siding. I understand the differences between corrugated aluminum and fiberglass in cost, appearance, repair costs, etc. I'm interested in actual, real world experiences of those of you with fiberglass siding. Have you had problems with scratches? Dents and dings? Warping and ripples? Ever need to repair? If you were doing it over again, would you go with fiberglass or aluminum?

I don't believe FWC actually uses fiberglass siding anymore. The newer smooth siding options are also aluminum. We have the smooth siding on our 2020 Grandby. It will definitely show more "desert pinstripes" and dents than the "classic" corrugated siding. However, after the first few scratches, we stopped worrying about them - they are usually superficial and just part of using the camper the way we do. The corrugated siding is supposed to be easier to repair, but I haven't heard very many instances where repairs have actually been needed or done. If I was doing it over again, I would probably go with the smooth again - I just like the appearance better. However, from a purely functional standpoint, the corrugated is probably a more sensible choice.

Well, I just looked at FWC site again and apparently smooth fiberglass has been replaced with smooth aluminum. Excuse my ignorance! So revise my questions to pertaining to the smooth aluminum siding.
