After the four previous non starts to some camping this year,

we finally made it to San Simeon SP for a couple nights.

The weather was great, just after the "big" storm weekend.

The drive down SR 1 was very nice, traffic was very light even for mid week.

Stopped at our favorite restaurant in Big Sur, Cafe Kevha.

This is a great place, nice and relaxed with great simple food.

Sitting out on the deck with the ocean, mountains in view.

Pretty uneventful trip to Cambria.Set up at Washburn site.

Very few other campers around so it made for a very quiet stay.

We did w lot of walking and the animals gave us some great views.

Headed home today learned the coast road had closed Wednesday

morning due to a rockfall around Gorda. So that meant the trip home via hwy 101.

Not our favorite route, but as there's no other choice.

Actually that route was also very light in traffic. So all went well.

The potato bowl is a great meal.

The weather couldn't have been better.Even got to see the Milky Way.

Sunrise shot.

Lots of birds around.

A fun short trip after not getting out for a while.

Frank, it sounds like a nice trip, even with the detour.

My favorite time to visit the coast is Nov- March. Less people and usually great weather. Good for you getting out!!

I was thinking about you when I heard about the road closure. After your cancellations this summer I am so glad you got this trip and I hope you get many more.

Thanks all.We just get out as things permit.

We fortunately are both in great health and very

able to travel at our whim.

We have times that we stay away from crowds and heat.

Don't do well with either.

So we just do our thing. Enjoy life what ever it leads us.

Next on the for sure list is two weeks at Christmas in Barcelona.

Couldn't go last year due to travel restrictions. So far we're good to go.
