Has anyone removed the new (2020) dimmable LED lights? We would like to make them not so white and add some lens gel. I have seen where this was done in the past but my lights don’t look like the ones in the 2019 post. There is no “plug” to remove, they seem to be hard wired and screwed directly to the ceiling. There might be two recessed micro screws on each end holding it together but…

I also could not find any sign of the manufacturer, anyone know that?

Thanks!

Pictures might help out, as I think they have gone through a couple of different LED strips.

The older style were from Kaperii (these were a white-painted metal frame, some of which had dimmers), and at least one generation were mounted via 2x small metal retention clips - the lights just pop in and out of those clips with a bit of force.

When Kaperii stopped making this style, I think 4WC might have continued to use their next generation of light strips, which were mounted with small screws at the ends of the light, and had a plastic case.

This is from discussions with Kaperii and retrofitting an older camper, so someone with a newer model may have more accurate information.

The “fix” with the previous style was to slide the lens out and insert a strip of colored light gel. Have not seen the new ones, but if the lens is removable a similiar fix should work. Alternately you could place a layer of gel over the top, or possibly find some self adhesive gel. 1/2 or 1 CTO is the right color. I have also seen someone use an orange sharpie to create the color shift.

I ordered some photography light filter film from Amazon and simply taped it over the lights. Low cost and low tech fix. Not the cleanest but it gets the job done.
